The core of the Smollan Group SA has always been representative of our diverse nation and is powered largely by black employees. Building diversity at senior and middle management level is a key strategic focus in the short and medium term.

Structured career pathing and a multitude of training and development initiatives ensure the progress of designated employees and we conduct retention-targeted incentivisation to improve retention of black employees, particularly black women. Employment Equity Committees established in each business unit examine the business dynamics, identify barriers to progress and deliver solutions that are both fair and commercially viable. We have also identified significant opportunity for the disabled within our customer contact environment.
