In March 2011, the Smollan Group assisted Pick n Pay with the preparation and national launch of their Smart Shopper Customer Loyalty programme. The Smollan Group provided Point of Sale (POS) marketing material, warehousing & distribution of all POS elements, a call center, in-store promoters & a full project management solution.
Twenty eight tons of POS materials were received and kitted into 5 622 stores in 1 week. All POS was delivered and installed into 591 stores nationally in 3 days.
The launch results showed in excess of 3.5 million shopper engagements achieved, 4 .1 million Loyalty Card applications distributed and over 551 000 man hours spent.
Just a few months after the launch, PnP had signed up 3.1 million “Smart Shoppers” and the cards are being utilised in more than 50% of sales. *
